Join us for a half-day adventure with the Vacche Rosse Consortium, exploring the production process of Parmigiano Reggiano delle Vacche Rosse, the native cattle breed of Reggio Emilia, and learning more about the sustainable practices adopted by the Consortium’s farms.
The itinerary includes a visit to the dairy with a vertical tasting of three ripenings, a visit to the herd and a delicious aperitif-tasting at the end of the experience.

RED COWS
The ‘Vacche Rosse’ (Red Cows) are a breed of cattle also known as the ‘Rossa Reggiana’ (Red Reggiana), native to the Reggio Emilia area.
This breed is characterised by its mahogany or deep red coat, from which it derives its name. The ‘Reggiana Red Cows’ are famous for their resistance, adaptability to the local climate and ability to produce high quality milk, used in the production of fine cheeses, such as Parmigiano Reggiano.
