DAY ONE: Arrive in Reggio Emilia in the morning and settle in the hotel. Meeting with a specialized guide at the Loris Malaguzzi International Center – former Locatelli Complex.
Visit to what was once the Emilian headquarters of the Locatelli company. You will discover the history of this building: a complex intended for the aging of grana cheese, built around the 1920s in the Santa Croce district of Reggio Emilia, and now, after being acquired by the Municipality in 1998 as part of an urban redevelopment program, becoming an important cultural center, dedicated to the world-famous Reggio Emilia pedagogue Loris Malaguzzi.
Afterwards, visit to Tecnolopo – Ex Officine Reggiane: a center for mechanical, mechatronic, construction, agribusiness, energy and environmental research, an incubator for start-ups and spin-offs.
At the end of the visit, lunch at the International Center restaurant.
In the afternoon, visit to the Ex Officine Reggiane Archives at Istoreco‘s headquarters in the Cloisters of San Domenico, located in the historic center of Reggio Emilia: a wealth of documents, images and objects related to the history of the Ex Officine. In the evening, typical dinner in a traditional restaurant in the historic center. Overnight stay in hotel.
SECOND DAY: Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning visit to the Collezione Maramotti, former production headquarters of the famous fashion house Max Mara and now a private gallery of contemporary art with international works from 1945 to the present. Free lunch.
In the afternoon, guided tour of the BAI Max Mara, Biblioteca e Archivio di Impresa, which aims to sort, preserve, research and enhance the history of Max Mara.
The Library specializing in fashion is aimed at researching new trends, while the Business Archive collects the company’s historical records in addition to fifty thousand objects, including garments and clothing accessories, sketches, fabrics, documents, advertising material, furniture and multimedia items from 1951 to the present.
