A JOURNEY TO THE 80s – Reggio Emilia (2 days – Saturday & Sunday)

Valid from October, 14th 2023 to March, 17th 2024

 Tourist package of two days and one night to visit the “Città del Tricolore” (Tricolor City) on occasion of the exhibition “FELICITAZIONI! CCCP-FEDELI ALLA LINEA 1984–2024” of Fondazione Palazzo Magnani and other cultural events of various kinds.

FIRST DAY
Welcome to Reggio Emilia

Arrive in Reggio Emilia independently and check in at your chosen hotel (either 3-star or 4-star), both conveniently located in the heart of the city;
Welcome dinner at a restaurant in the historic centre of Reggio Emilia: Enjoy local dishes paired with regional wine;
Accommodation*: Relax and enjoy a comfortable night in a double room at the chosen hotel, including breakfast;

Any request for a different room type will be considered as a supplement to the original request.

SECOND DAY
Dive into the 1980s and Leisure Time

Breakfast at the hotel and check-out;
Free Morning
We suggest to explore the historic centre of Reggio Emilia* (discover its cultural treasures, including the Basilica della Ghiara, the Basilica di San Prospero, the Cathedral, and the Tricolor Museum) and/or the Maramotti Collection – permanent collection and temporary exhibition (free admission);

Option to add a guided city tour as an additional supplement

Free lunch;
Self-transfer to Chiostri di San Pietro (Reggio Emilia – historic centre);
3:00 pm: Guided tour and entrance to “FELICITAZIONI! CCCP-FEDELI ALLA LINEA 1984–2024″ exhibition at Fondazione Palazzo Magnani.

 3-STAR HOTEL: Starting from € 115.00, VAT included 

4-STAR HOTEL: Starting from € 130.00, VAT included 

*Double room for single-use supplement: € 35.00 per person per night, VAT included

The rate may vary at the time of booking, once checked the room’s availability and the included services. The “starting from” rate is valid for the low season period (from November to February). Itinere reserves the right to add a supplement for requests in October.

THE PACKAGE DOESN’T INCLUDE

Day 1 Lunch; Day 2 Lunch; Guided tours not mentioned; Transfer; pay parking/garage; any supplement for luggage storage or late check-out; Entrance fees to other museums/exhibitions not specified; Extras during meals; Medical/ baggage insurance; Anything not expressly mentioned under “the package includes”.

EVENTS/EXHIBITIONS NOT TO BE MISSED

 Giulia Andreani – “L’improduttiva” – From October 29th to March 10th, 2024 – Collezione Maramotti

For her first institutional solo exhibition in Italy, Giulia Andreani presents a project composed of a coherent body of new paintings and watercolours. Embracing the technique of photomontage, Andreani juxtaposes elements taken from real images, often from archives, and imaginative details. The subjects emerge on the canvas through a single colour, Payne’s grey. The conceptual starting point for “L’improduttiva” was the iconographic materials found in some Reggio Emilia archives, through which Andreani investigated the city’s historical and socio-political context, focusing on the concepts of confinement and imprisonment, closely linked to the history of women.

Visits to the permanent collection by reservation are limited to a maximum of 25 visitors at a time.
Free admission.

Start times for visits to the permanent collection: Thursday and Friday at 3:00 PM; Saturday and Sunday at 10:30 AM or 3:00 PM.

Access to temporary exhibitions : free on Thursday and Friday from 2:30 PM to 6:30 PM; Saturday and Sunday from 10:30 AM to 6:30 PM.
